KRESS Employment Screening Publishes Background Screening Trends Report
Licensed investigations company announces release of study analyzing companies' use of background screens
HOUSTON—Oct. 16, 2007—KRESS Employment Screening, a licensed investigations company that provides employers with background checks, today announced the release of its newest trends report analyzing companies' use of background screens.
The "2007 Background Screening Trends" report is so valuable because it provides insight into how companies select, interact and evaluate background screening providers," said Jeff Rackler, CEO of KRESS Employment Screening. "It explores best practices among companies of all sizes and in various industries to help executives and HR professionals develop a better understanding of how their competitors are integrating background screening into the hiring process."
The findings of the report are based on KRESS' "2007 Background Screening Trends" survey, conducted in Q3, 2007. Key findings of the report include:
- More information leads to better hiring decisions: 66.1 percent of respondents agree.
- Better background screens yield better employees: 88.4 percent of respondents agree with this statement and 51.6 percent completely agree.
- More than half of respondents (64.2 percent) are aware of all the privacy and discrimination laws that affect background screens, and 69.7 percent of respondents entrust this to their screening providers.
In order to maximize the results of background screens, HR professionals, recruiters and executives must fully understand the need for screens, the risks associated with faulty screens and sub-par screening providers and the cost savings and legal protection high-quality screening services can provide.
