Document Verification Services for FREE
Consent Based Social Security Verification & E-Verify Combined
KRESS Employment Screening is pleased to announce a new and exciting program that will give clients unfettered
access to verify whether or not an applicant or employee is providing accurate social security number information.
KRESS is providing clients access to the Consent Based Social Security Verification (CBSV) and the E-Verify program
to give employers verification of an applicant’s social security number and eligibility to work in the U.S. With
the request of any standard background check package, clients will now be able to utilize both of these packages for no
additional cost.
What Exactly Do These Programs Offer?
The CBSV is a pre-employment match with SSA records of the name, date of birth and the social security number.
The E-Verify program is a post-employment program that will indicate whether or not the employee is eligible for
employment in the U.S. KRESS uses the CBSV search as a pre-screening tool to identify those job applicants who
are submitting social security numbers with errors or that do not match SSA records.
The Department
of Homeland Security website states, "E-Verify is an essential
tool for employers committed to maintaining a legal workforce,
and the number of registered employers is growing by over
1,000 per week." KRESS uses E-Verify in a post-employment
process to help clients fulfill their I9 obligations.
These two programs are very much like bookends in that they are used on both the beginning and the end of
background check process. CBSV is a pre-employment program that gives a simple “thumbs-up” as to whether the
information matches. If it doesn’t, KRESS stops processing the background check and clients are only charged
$3 for CBSV – not the full background check package price.
If the number does match, there’s no charge for the
search and KRESS processes the background check. Once we’ve completed the background check and the client is
ready to hire the applicant, KRESS will process the E-Verify search. E-Verify is a post-employment program that
not only verifies the name and number but also tells employers whether or not the employee is eligible for employment
in the U.S.
KRESS Helps Clients Reduce Liability
What KRESS is offering is a chance to dramatically improve the accuracy of the data submitted by job applicants
and thereby create a more efficient hiring process. If an employer uses both of these services, the chances of
someone slipping through the cracks with some type of erroneous information is minimal at best. Start reducing
your liability today with KRESS.
Sincerely,
Jeff Rackler, CEO

NAPBS Advocates Background Checks Even in These Tough Times
The National Association of Professional Background Screeners, an important advocacy organization
for the industry, has recently issued a news release strongly promoting the continued use of background
screenings, especially in this current declining job market.
"Considering the current state of the economy, the job market is destined to become more tenuous and
competitive in 2009," said Tracy Seabrook, CAE, executive director of NAPBS. "When the economy declines,
we tend to see an increase in individuals stretching the truth in order to secure employment. Employers
should be aware of these trends, and know that they can use professional background screening as another
tool in their recruiting efforts to ensure the candidate they are considering is, indeed, the right match
for the organization."
